The SJCOE Mathematics Department hosts the Annual San Joaquin County Math Tournament at the San Joaquin Office of Education. This is an excellent way for schools to promote excellence in math, to raise student test scores, to increase student self-esteem, to develop problem-solving skills and finally, to hone both competitive and cooperative skills. Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving science education, increasing interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding academic achievement. It is also designed to encourage and support new and creative ways for classroom teachers to explore science curriculum. Science Olympiad is a fun, hands-on way to make science exciting and foster a passion for the subject, while promoting teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. Students in third through eighth grades are eligible to apply for the Science Olympiad team. River Islands Technology Academy Lottery Process For February 21st, 2018 The public lottery will not take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 21st in the Creative Center. Good Afternoon RiTechA Parents, School Site Council Members needed! We would like to invite parents to consider applying for membership on the School Site Council. The school site council will be composed of the principal, teachers, one other staff member and four parents. Parents of the school must select the parent school site council members. The term will be for two years; however, in order to have people leave the council on a rotating basis, initially two members will serve just one year. Typically, there are four meetings a year. The meetings are public meetings. The purpose of the School Site Council (SSC) is to develop the Single School District Plan (SSDP) for Consolidated Application programs operated at the school. The SSC will approve the SSDP and recommend it to the governing board for approval. ...

It was a pleasure to have Adam Sidwell come by and visit River Islands Technology Academy and share his writing experience and thrill of reading with all the students. He also took some time with the success class and talked about his journey to becoming a published author. He didn’t stop there. He took some time to be interviewed by one of our Raptor Roar Contributors, Reed Goodwin, and shared some of the movies he has worked on too. It was an amazing experience for our students to have.

He will be speaking to our K-5th grade students about The Joy of Reading and sharing his experience as a writer. Date: February 2, 2016 Subject: Official Message from the State Superintendent of Public Instruction In April 2012, two organizations, the Morgan Hill Concerned Parents Association and the Concerned Parent Association (the plaintiffs), filed a lawsuit against the California Department of Education (CDE) alleging widespread, systemic non-compliance by local educational agencies with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504. The suit also alleges that the CDE fails to monitor, investigate, and correct such non-compliance in accordance with the law.
